Best Practices for Using Deep Signal AI Trade Coach
- Prioritize—Don't Chase Every Suggestion AI analysis should give you ideas to investigate, not a list of changes that must automatically be implemented. Start with Critical and High-impact findings; evaluate Medium and Low findings as potential refinements once the more important issues have been addressed.
- Re-Analyze After Code Changes After fixing an identified code issue, run Analyze Code again. This helps confirm that the original concern has been addressed and gives the AI an opportunity to evaluate the revised code.
- Use Both Coaching Lenses A strategy with clean code isn't necessarily a good trading strategy, and a profitable strategy can still contain technical problems. Code Coaching examines how the strategy is built; Performance Coaching examines how it actually trades. The greatest value comes from using both.
- Keep Ignore Intentional Use Ignore only after you've reviewed a finding and intentionally decided that it doesn't apply to your strategy. Ignored issues remain available under the Ignored filter and can be reviewed again later.
- Test Before You Trust Treat AI-generated recommendations as research ideas, not trading instructions. When AI Trade Coach identifies a promising change, test it through your normal development process using backtesting, out-of-sample testing, simulation, and other validation techniques appropriate for your strategy.
Example AI Trade Coach Workflow
1. Enable Your Strategy
Before opening AI Trade Coach, make sure the NinjaScript strategy you want to analyze is enabled and running in NinjaTrader. Only enabled strategies appear in the AI Trade Coach strategy list.
2. Analyze Your Code
Open AI Trade Coach, select your strategy, and choose Analyze Code. Review Critical and Warning findings. Correct applicable issues or intentionally Ignore findings you've evaluated.
3. Deploy and Trade
Run the strategy using your normal testing or deployment process and allow it to accumulate representative trading history.
4. Review Your Trades
When the Trade Analysis Threshold is reached—or whenever you choose Analyze Trades—review AI Suggestions, performance statistics, MFE, MAE, and individual trade assessments.
5. Investigate
Concentrate on High and Critical findings. Determine whether the identified patterns make sense given your strategy's design and trading methodology.
Think of AI Trade Coach as Your AI Strategy Research Partner
Traditional performance reports are very good at answering:
"What happened?"
Source-code reviews can answer:
"How does my strategy work?"
Deep Signal AI Trade Coach brings those two perspectives together to help you investigate the more valuable questions:
- Why did my strategy perform this way?
- What separates my better trades from my weaker trades?
- Is my strategy behaving the way I intended?
- Are my entries, exits, stops, or parameters worth another look?
- Is there something in my strategy code I may have overlooked?
- What should I investigate or test next?
AI Trade Coach doesn't replace backtesting, forward testing, sound strategy development, or your judgment as a trader. Instead, it helps you use AI to find potential problems, patterns, and opportunities faster—so you can spend more of your time testing the ideas that matter.

For automated strategy developers, it connects source code with actual trading performance. For discretionary traders, it provides AI-powered analysis of actual trading behavior.
And instead of simply giving you another collection of statistics, AI Trade Coach is designed to help answer the question every strategy developer eventually asks:
"What should I work on next?"
Used consistently, AI Trade Coach turns code review and trade analysis from occasional tasks into a continuously improving, AI-assisted strategy-development process.
Futures, foreign currency and options trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing ones financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
